Hi Indies!
Greetings! I took this photo of pretty pumpkins in front of he grocery store yesterday. Not an especially sexy location, but pumpkins are pretty no matter where they are, don't you think?! Do you love this time of year? I do. Both of my children were born in October, so the month has special meaning for me. The Opal gemstone, the birthstone for October, is also a personal favorite. As a child, I always wished I had been born in October so I could wear opals. They are so brightly colored, and no two look alike. While I'm thankful for being born in December, the birth stone, Topaz, is just not my fave. (Some resources say that Zircon and Tanzanite are also December birthstones -- don't like those much either.) What's your birthstone? Do you like it? Or what's your favorite gemstone? Please share at our FaceBook page, and see what lots of other people think too! Thanks for inviting me into your inbox, and have a great week! |
Peace
After an early morning Zumba class Saturday, I met with Sunny, my new life coach. We enjoyed a special time of connection and sharing beside this beautiful lake. Even though I've driven past the location many times, I never noticed it before. It's tucked behind some trees so it's not really visible from the road.
Life's funny that way. You see something day in and day out, and never pause long enough to appreciate it. Then, one day, you have no choice. As Sunny and I strolled along the path around the lake, we enjoyed the light rustling of the leaves in the beautiful trees on the property. We also chatted with a few ducks.
It was the perfect time of serenity for me and I enjoyed it so much. I'm especially glad I had it because the rest of the day was devoted to screaming children, since it was my son's 7th birthday.
Thanks Sunny, and also to my husband for understanding how important it is for me to take time for myself.

INDIEgu: A New IBN Member Benefit!
I am excited to announce that we ae in the final stages of launching INDIEgu, an e-commerce hub that sells products made by artisans and INDIE business owners nationwide.
My team and I are thrilled to share this exciting venture, which will not only offer you amazing prodcts, but also tell you the stories of the people who make them.
Our launch is planned for November 8, with a launch Maker Party in Charlotte on November 15! We are looking to partner with INDIE Makers from around the country, so if you sell artisan made products and would like to know more about how we can partner with you to grow your business and tell your story, please send an email to myINDIEgu@gmail.com, and include your phone number, website address, and the best time to call and we will follow up.
The INDIEgu opportunity is open to all artisans with high quality product photos (or we can take them for you!), and who carry at least $1M in products liability insurance, which is offered as a benefit of membership in IBN. Our sales structure is the most competitive available. You don't have to be an IBN member to partner with us, but if you are, you keep more of the money from the products we sell for you. INDIEgu wants to be your partner in success, so we take only 20% of your sale price (15% if you are an IBN member!!), and we pay to ship the product to our customer.
I wrote a blog post to share a bit of the story behind INDIEgu, and you can read it here. Don't forget to email for information, and please tell your friends with great products that we'd like to meet them!

Your Way!
As you might imagine, my home and office are filled with lots of soaps, candles and other wonderful artisan made products. I love buying up as much as I can, and fro time to time, it takes a few months to actually get around to using some of the goodies.
Such is the case with this wonderful award-winning soap from IBN member Erin Pikor of Naiaid Soap Arts. It's called Tea Room and, as you can see, it's gorgeously stamped with Erin's brand name. It smells delicious and my family ad I are enjoying using it.
You may also be interested to know that Erin is also a good photographer. (Erin did not take this photo, I did -- as you can probably tell ...) Erin's photos are included in a brand new book my Debbe Chialtas (also an IBN member) called, The Art Of Soap. I am excited that I was the first person to place an order when Debbie announced that the book is now available for sale! I just had to tell all of my FaceBook friends of course.
