August 8, 2008
Charlotte, NC - IBN - Indie Beauty Network Founder and President Donna Maria Coles Johnson and IBN member Lisa Rodgers of Cactus & Ivy today met by conference call with a staffer in the offices of Senator Jim DeMint (R-SC) to discuss IBN members' position on the Discussion Draft of the Food and Drug Administration Globalization Act of 2008, introduced by US Representatives John Dingell (D-MI), Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ 6th) and Bart Stupak (D-MI).
The following statement may be attributed to IBN's Founder and President Donna Maria Coles Johnson:
"IBN thanks Senator DeMint for making his staff available to discuss the important issues raised by this draft legislation. The fact that there have been numerous hearings on the draft over the past few months is indicative of the importance of the issues under consideration. We look forward to working with all members of the House and Senate and other interested parties to ensure that any new laws do not unfairly impact small businesses, the backbone of the American economy."
