October 10, 2008

Charlotte, NC - IBN - Indie Beauty Network Founder and President Donna Maria Coles Johnson and IBN member Daria Ross of Wild Woozle Soap Company today met by conference call with Staffer Maura Little in the offices of Representative Jay Inslee's (D-WA) to discuss IBN members' position on the Discussion Draft of the Food and Drug Administration Globalization Act of 2008, introduced by US Representatives John Dingell (D-MI), Frank Pallone, Jr. (D-NJ 6th) and Bart Stupak (D-MI). Representative Allen is a member of the House Energy & Commerce Committee where the draft discussion of the law is being marked up.

The following statement may be attributed to IBN's Founder and President Donna Maria Coles Johnson:

"IBN thanks Representative Allen for making his staff available to discuss the important issues raised by this draft legislation. The fact that there have been numerous hearings on the draft over the past few months is indicative of the importance of the issues under consideration. We look forward to working with all members of the House and Senate and other interested parties to ensure that any new laws do not unfairly impact small businesses, the backbone of the American economy."
